Petition for Saving Catholic Schools Rejected by Aberdeen City Council

This may be a significant disappointment to everyone who signed the petition, particularly the minorities in Aberdeen who send their children to Catholic schools. They were hoping the council would assist in sending their children to a Catholic secondary school to meet the needs of those coming from Catholic primary schools in Aberdeen.

Additionally, our appeal to save the primary schools has gone unheard, as the council has stated that they will decide on a course of action in September 2024.

In these challenging times, with far-right groups posing threats to many minorities, we hope the council will stand in solidarity with us and help ensure our children feel safe in our schools.

Please find the response sent by the council which I had appealed through my MP Stephen Flynn.

Bishop Hugh continues to appeal on our behalf with the council, especially since we have the need for our kids to be not persecuted for their religious beliefs in secondary school and continue to feel confident in exercising their value-system in a modern world.
